If you’ve visited the Green today, you’ll notice that the bench pad installation has begun! Today, the five pads were dug out, and the plan is to commence with the concrete pour on Friday – weather dependent. There are storms in the forecast…so we will see.
Regardless, the current plan is to have the benches installed by the end of next week, with the commemorative plaques being installed ASAP after that (just waiting on the vendor).
There is going to be wet concrete on the Green for a few days, so let me make this as clear as I can:
The Board will not tolerate any initials, handprints, obscene drawings, or markings of ANY KIND in the concrete. We will have to re-pour or touch up the markings at the expense of this community. Any household (kids included) found messing with these pads will be subject to a fine. Parents – you are responsible for your kids or teens and their decisions. These benches have been generously paid for by community members, many of them commemorating a loved one or a happy memory. Seriously, don’t do this.
We’re really looking forward to this fun addition to our beautiful common spaces – which will soon be followed by a small free library later in the season. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation as we enhance our Green!
